DESCRIPTION
IMMUCOX® I is designed for the purpose of delivering uniformly low doses of live oocysts to chickens to aid in the development of immunity against coccidiosis. When administered according to the directions (see below) IMMUCOX can prevent mortality and reduced weight gains that are attributable to coccidiosis.
PRECAUTIONS
Be sure that no anticoccidial (coccidiostat) is used in the feed. Even a low level of anticoccidial can reduce or negate the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Broad spectrum antibiotics which possess anticoccidial activity (e.g., tetracyclines, sulfa drugs, and nitrofurans) should not be used together with IMMUCOX for the first 12 days after vaccination.
Do not over dose or under dose.
If birds are housed in a confined space (e.g., brooding rings), they must be released from confinement by the sixth day post-vaccination or the area must be at least doubled.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Ensure that the fowls are thirsty by withdrawing their water supply 1-2 hours before vaccination, depending on the ambient temperature.
Be sure that there is sufficient quantity (doses) of IMMUCOX I and a corresponding amount of diluent for the number of fowls to be vaccinated. One vial will treat 1000 fowls.
Vaccinate only healthy fowls.
Be sure that no water from any source is available to the fowls during vaccination.
Fill a plastic container labelled diluent “mixing container” with 4 liters of water. Add one package IMMUCOX diluent to the mixing container and shake well. Pour one vial of IMMUCOX into the mixing container, shake vigorously. The vaccine mixture is properly mixed when the color appears uniform.
Before the vaccine is administered, remove all solid matter, debris, and water from the drinker. Pour the vaccine mixture directly into all the drinkers in use.
Water troughs – use all.
Bell – shaped drinkers – use one drinker per 60-80 fowls.
Swish cups – pour into all drinkers and refill as required.
Be sure to use all the predetermined amount of vaccine mixture. Normal watering procedure may be undertaken as soon as there is no more vaccine in the drinkers (approximately one hour).
Vaccinate birds at 3-5 days of age. No other vaccinations for coccidiosis are necessary.
CAUTION
The capacity of IMMUCOX to aid in the development of immunity against coccidiosis in chickens depends upon many factors. These include, but are not limited to, conditions of storage and handling of the vaccine by the user, administration of the vaccine, the responsiveness of individual birds to the vaccine, and whether the directions for use and precautionary measures are being followed carefully.
Consult a poultry veterinarian or a diagnostic laboratory for proper diagnosis. Inform the veterinarian or the diagnostic laboratory that the flock has been vaccinated with IMMUCOX.
